An Introductory Overview of Baghdad Women Association
It is one of the local civil society organizations operating in Iraq since 2004. Its vision is to combat all forms of violence against women and girls and to ensure legal protection, equality, and respect for all human rights of women and girls.
- Project Background
Baghdad Women Association is implementing a project titled “Promoting Community Resilience to Prevent Violent Extremism in Kirkuk.” One of the key activities of the project is building the capacity of Youth Resilience Champions through two 3-day training sessions. These sessions aim to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in community dialogue, conflict resolution, and the implementation of the PVE Plan of Action.
- Purpose of the Assignment
BWA seeks to engage a qualified trainer to design and deliver two 3-day training workshops in Kirkuk for selected Youth Resilience Champions. The training will equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to lead community dialogue sessions, support reintegration and cohesion, and contribute to peacebuilding activities in Kirkuk.
- Scope of Work
– Develop a detailed training agenda and materials in consultation with BWA.
– Facilitate two separate 3-day training sessions for 10 participants each.
– Provide knowledge on PVE Plan of Action, conflict mitigation, stakeholder engagement, community mobilization, and digital communication.
– Conduct pre- and post-assessments to measure learning outcomes.
– Submit a final training report including evaluation results and recommendations.
- Expected Deliverables
– Training agenda and materials (Arabic/ English).
– Pre/post-training assessment tools.
– Two training sessions delivered.
– Final report (in Arabic or English).
- Duration and Location
The assignment will take place in Kirkuk over a period of 6 days (2 sessions of 3 days each), expected to be implemented in May 2025.
- Required Qualifications
– Proven experience in delivering training on PVE, peacebuilding, or community dialogue.
– Strong facilitation and communication skills.
– Experience working with youth and diverse communities.
– Fluency in Arabic and English; knowledge of Kurdish or Turkmen is an asset.
– Familiarity with the context of Kirkuk is desirable.
- Reporting
The trainer will report directly to the Program Manager of BWA and coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
