Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (recognized by Iraqi Ministry of Higher education.
- Professional certification (preferred but not mandatory): CPA, ACCA, CMA, or local Iraqi accounting certifications.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Familiarity with Iraqi tax laws, especially those affecting logistics (customs duties, VAT, withholding tax).
- Familiarity with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) or local Iraqi accounting standards.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Registration with the Iraqi Ministry of Finance (For tax filing purposes).
- Iraqi Tax Law (No. 113 of 1982, amended), VAT regulations (if the company is VAT-registered), Customs and import/export financial reporting (if dealing with cross-border logistics), Compliance with Iraqi Labor Law (No. 37 of 2015) regarding employment contracts and social security.
Skills
Technical & Software Skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent knowledge on MS Word, PPT, Outlook and Social Media APP (i.e. whatsApp, wecom, wechat, zoom, comera)
Industry-Specific Knowledge (Finance)
- Knowledge of contract accounting (For long-term logistics agreements).
- Familiarity with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations in trade and transport.
- Financial & Reporting Responsibilities (Company Rules)
- Daily/Weekly Reports: Customs duty payments & reconciliations. / Monthly payroll and petty cash tracking.
- To work closely with logistics operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Ability to prepare financial statements in compliance with Iraqi GAAP or IFRS.
Language & Communication
- Fluent in Arabic (mandatory for government filings).
- Fluent in Speaking and Writing English (For international Logistics Operations and Communicating with company overseas branches)
- Knowledge of Kurdish is preferrable.
Personal & Ethical Requirements
- No financial crime record (verified by Iraqi authorities).
- Strong attention to detail (logistics involves high transaction volumes).
- Integrity in handling cash flows, payroll, and vendor payments.
Work Schedule & Leave Policies
- 6-day workweek (common in Iraqi logistics due to operational demands).
- Emergency On-Call Duty: May be required during peak shipping seasons or customs clearance delays.
