Job Title: Supply Chain Officer
Department: Supply Chain / Logistics
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Iraq-Baghdad
Job Purpose
To ensure efficient planning, procurement, inventory control, logistics coordination, and timely availability of materials and products to support uninterrupted manufacturing and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and update material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery.
Create and follow purchase orders to ensure compliance with company policies.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery time, and pricing.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Maintain accurate stock records in ERP systems.
Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Suggest improvements to optimize storage, handling, and inventory turnover.
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with warehouse and transportation teams.
Prepare and review shipping documents (invoices, packing lists, customs documents).
Follow up on shipments, ensuring proper tracking and timely arrival.
Support warehouse operations to ensure proper receiving, storage, and dispatch.
- Interdepartmental Coordination
Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Sales to ensure smooth workflow.
Communicate delays or shortages proactively and propose corrective actions.
- Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all supply chain activities comply with company SOPs, GMP (if pharma), and regulatory requirements.
Maintain complete and accurate procurement and logistics documentation.
Support audits and provide the required supply chain records.
Identify gaps in the supply chain process and propose improvement initiatives.
Contribute to cost-saving strategies and supplier optimization projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics (preferably in manufacturing).
Strong knowledge of procurement, logistics, and inventory control processes.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics is a plus).
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Good command of English (written and spoken).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
