About The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst in the Supply team at Baly, you are a trusted expert and influential analytical voice within the organization. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Commercial, Research, Finance, and Product, translating business problems into structured analytical workstreams and delivering insights that are both actionable and scalable.
The Supply team’s mission is to ensure consistent driver availability across all active geographies — enabling every customer to enjoy a seamless ride experience while improving driver unit economics, strengthening business performance, and enabling Baly to hit its strategic targets.
To bring this mission to life, you will shape the end-to-end driver lifecycle, uncovering opportunities, removing friction points, and enabling smarter decisions through advanced analytics, AI, and experimentation frameworks.
This is a high-impact role where your insights will directly influence incentives, product features, operational workflows, and forecasting models across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analytics & Business Impact
- Partner with research, finance, product, and operations to design and deliver data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical projects with clear frameworks, hypotheses, and outputs.
- Lead root-cause analysis to identify supply bottlenecks, performance inefficiencies, and missed opportunities.
AI, Modeling & Automation
- Leverage AI and machine learning models to improve forecasting accuracy, driver segmentation, and engagement strategies.
- Optimize existing models, algorithms, and prediction frameworks to improve reliability and performance.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring analytical workflows and decision-making processes.
Supply Optimization & Forecasting
- Improve supply-demand forecasting accuracy using advanced statistical and ML-based techniques.
- Analyze driver lifecycle performance to identify friction points in acquisition, activation, performance, and retention.
- Recommend operational and product interventions to improve driver availability and marketplace balance.
Data Products, Dashboards & Experimentation
- Build and scale data products, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools to empower teams with real-time decision-making capabilities.
- Develop and maintain A/B testing and experimentation frameworks to evaluate new initiatives.
- Define analytical best practices and ensure high-quality data documentation and process governance.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as a thought partner to senior leaders by providing forward-looking insights and scenario modeling.
- Mentor junior analysts (where applicable) and contribute to raising the analytical bar across the team.
- Champion data-driven decision-making and analytical rigor across all supply-related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or similar roles.
- Strong expertise in SQL, with the ability to write complex, efficient queries.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data modeling, forecasting, and machine learning tasks.
- Experience with dashboarding tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience with forecasting models, marketplace analytics, or performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in marketplace businesses, ride-hailing, gig-economy platforms, or logistics environments.
- Exposure to machine learning techniques, including segmentation models, time-series forecasting, and uplift modeling.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with experimentation tools and testing methodologies.
- Strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive projects from ideation to execution.
