Position Description / Purpose
The Accounting Manager is in a critical position to ensure that the company operates and maintains a fit-for-purpose control and governance framework along with full compliance with international and local accounting standards. The Accounting Manager is engaging with staff at all levels of the JV organization and contributes directly to the success of the company.
Position Description - Accountabilities and Requirements
- Stakeholder Management: Assist the Accounting Manager in coordinating, planning, and executing all external audits, including Shareholder audits, Big 4 IFRS audits, and Board of Supreme Audit (a Government Audit).
- Financial Reporting: Ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, as well as annual statutory accounts (IFRS and IUAS) and tax returns (including WHT), are prepared and filed accurately and on time.
- Accounting: Support the Accounting Manager in ensuring that financial reporting, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory controls are effective. Ensure customer invoices are accurately recorded on time, assets under construction balances are followed up, capitalization is done on time, and inventory transactions are closely assessed.
- ERP System Controls: Monitor financial and ERP system controls to ensure they are in place, effective, and consistently applied. Ensure SAP Financial Master Data changes are correctly controlled and authorized, and updates are done accurately and on time.
- Assurance Planning and Reporting: Maintain the audit (internal and external) actions log. Ensure assurance outcomes are properly recorded and update the company’s LT on the status of outstanding actions in the audit actions log.
- Audit Committee Secretary: Assist in the effective interpretation and management of the JV’s Audit Committee, including setting the agenda, coordinating the itinerary with the Internal Audit Manager, preparing and delivering pre-read materials, presenting to all shareholders, and sending out Minutes of Meeting once complete.
- Business Assurance Letter: Lead the successful assurance process, consolidating all sources of information and ensuring that the company’s Assurance Letter Process produces a quality Assurance Letter reflective of the assurance position of the Venture.
- Risk Management: Own the risk management methodology and advise on the application of the company’s risk standards. Maintain the functional risk register and prepare regular risk reports for the company’s Leadership Team and Audit Committee. Train Risk Management methodology to all company colleagues as required.
- Control Identification Exercise: Perform assigned tasks in delivering periodic financial reporting on control identification exercises. Assist in the evaluation and documentation of financial controls for the company in line with the requirements of the Financial Controls Manual.
- Governance: Advise on governance queries related to company operations, including changes in process models, processes, reporting structures, and systems.
- Manual of Authority: Support, advise, update, publish, and communicate the Manual of Authority.
- Incident Reporting: Advise on incident reporting and liaise with other parts of the organization on shared learnings. Provide analysis and dissemination of learnings from Business Control Incidents and Control Learning Incidents. Assist and advise on control incidents that warrant reporting to Management and Shareholder levels.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Extensive experience with IFRS and IUAS standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
