Background
Kanaf Organization for Relief and Development is a national NGO committed to promoting peace, education, and resilience in Iraqi communities. As part of our continued efforts to implement effective PVE-E (Preventing Violent Extremism through Education) interventions, we are seeking a dedicated Field Officer to support the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of field activities in Salah Al-Din Governorate.
2. Purpose of the Position
The Field Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of project activities in Salah Al-Din. This includes liaising with local stakeholders, ensuring smooth field operations, supporting beneficiaries, and reporting on progress and challenges.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of project activities in accordance with the work plan and guidelines.
- Conduct regular field visits to schools, communities, or other project sites.
- Engage with local authorities, community leaders, school administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure acceptance and collaboration.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating trainings, workshops, FGDs, and community events.
- Collect and document field data, including attendance sheets, beneficiary feedback, and activity reports.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Identify challenges and risks in the field and propose practical solutions.
- Ensure that project activities are inclusive.
- Support with logistical arrangements for field events.
- Comply with organizational policies, including safeguarding and Do No Harm principles.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, international development, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar role with NGOs or development agencies.
- Experience in community engagement, education programs, or peacebuilding is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Familiarity with the socio-political context of Salah Al-Din.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
5. Working Conditions
- The position is based in Salah Al-Din, with frequent travel to project sites across the governorate.
