Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Baghdad, Iraq. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation and service of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
- Assist the Chef de Partie in the daily operations of the assigned kitchen section
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to recipes and established standards
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and labeling of all food items
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service
- Participate in menu planning and development of new dishes
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including commis chefs and apprentices
- Assist in inventory management and cost control measures
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to the overall success of the culinary team by maintaining high standards of quality and consistency
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and culinary trends
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work on a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a positive attitude and leadership potential
- Experience in a luxury hotel environment is preferred
