Cihan Auto-Trading Company is looking for a bright and aspiring Candidate for the following vacancy:
Position: QHSE Specialist
Hours: 8 Working Hours- 6 Days per week (Sat-Thu)
Location: Erbil – Kurdistan Region
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Implement QHSE policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with the company’s QHSE policies regulatory requirements and Industry standards.
- Conduct safety inductions where required for all visitors to the site.
QHSE:
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies & ISO (9001, 45001, and 14001) Standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to reduce and eliminate hazards in the workplace.
- Work with all departments, and contractors to ensure QHSE requirements are incorporated into day-to-day operations and projects.
- Implement emergency response and evacuation plans and procedures to mitigate the impact of incidents.
- Participate in site walkarounds and safety inspections, and promote good health and safety best practices for all activities carried out on site.
- Coordinate with the Security & Reception team to be aware of all visitors to the site daily and maintain an accurate record of the same.
- Provide HSE input to and sign off on all non-routine work, subject to issuance by the QHSE Manager of a Permit to Work and supplementary Permits.
- Provide HSE-related input to daily Operations Meetings.
- Sourcing, assisting with procurement, and maintaining appropriate stock levels for all PPE.
- Ensure all personnel, including site visitors, are provided with and are wearing the appropriate PPE while on site.
Documentation:
- Administer the Safety Training Observation Program established for the site and maintain the associated spreadsheet
- Maintain an up-to-date Safety Data Sheet (SDS) register for all products and chemicals present at the site.
- Ensure appropriate signage is deployed and properly maintained throughout the site, and that QHSE information and updates are posted on all noticeboards.
Reporting:
- Compile Near-Miss and Incident Investigation reports for review by the QHSE Manager and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Provide monthly QHSE Report including all relevant QHSE statistics including inspections and
- Submission/close-out of QHSE Report to the QHSE Manager
Equipment:
- Retain on file calibration certificates for all (scales, gauges, torque wrenches, temperature control). and ensure that all are recalibrated when required and are not used outside of their period of calibration.
- Ensure all First Aid kits, equipment and facilities around the site are fully stocked and properly maintained, and keep a record of usage of all consumables.
- Ensure spill kits and other HSE equipment around the site are fully stocked and properly maintained.
Training:
- Deliver the HSE training program to all employees and train them regularly.
- Evaluation, identifying and providing budget and resources for training needs for the workforce to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively.
- Work with the Training & HR dept. In identifying and proposing appropriately accredited training service providers, and maintaining accurate records of all training carried out by the same
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or diploma degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or similar.
- Professional certification in HSE management, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as QHSE Specialist, Advisor, or similar.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of the QHSE practices & ISO Standards (9001, 45001, & 14001).
- In-depth understanding of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Based Thinking, Waste Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Incident Investigation, Risk Management Control, Non-Conformity Report, Auditing (Internal & External), and Permit-To-Work processes
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Microsoft Office
- English and Kurdish language skills (written and oral), with Arabic a desirable addition
