At Eni, we are looking for a QA/QC Superintendent within Eni Iraq B.V. in Basra, Iraq. You will be responsible for managing the quality standards of multidisciplinary works – including mechanical, electrical, painting, instrumentation and telecommunication – during the Construction, Commissioning and Start-Up phases. This includes monitoring and implementing the site’s quality assurance and quality control systems, ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards and specifications, health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements, and the project schedule.

Main responsibilities:
- Read and interpret design schematics to ensure proper installation.
- Support the Construction and Commissioning Departments by verifying that all works -mechanical, electrical, painting, instrumentation and telecommunication – are performed in compliance with project drawings, specifications and applicable international codes and standards.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of welding processes, non-destructive examination (NDE) practices, and materials.
- Verify that equipment and bulk materials are certified and comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and practical solutions.
- Supervise all activities related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including inspection of completed work packages (e.g. welding and bolt-up assemblies).
- Interface with contractors engaged in construction, installation and commissioning to ensure that Quality Control and company quality requirements are met.
- Inspect work to ensure conformance with specifications defined in the job package.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), work in alignment with the contractual schedule, and propose positive actions to mitigate delays.
- Inspect all assembled test packages and coordinate testing and third-party inspections (e.g. NDE) of completed work.
- Ensure that quality issues are identified and resolved through the construction repair process.
- Apply knowledge of international standards and quality management systems.
- Ensure that punch lists are properly identified, integrated into the Master Punch List Register, and cleared for the required certificates (Ready for Commissioning / Ready for Start-Up / Handover).
- Manage engineering queries, deviations, technical and site queries, non-conformance reports (NCRs) and punch lists.
Skills and experience required:
- High school diploma required; an engineering technical degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience in oil and gas projects.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of documentation management for the Construction, Commissioning and Start-Up phases.
- In-depth understanding of welding and/or discipline-specific work in accordance with client requirements (mechanical, electrical, painting, instrumentation and telecommunication).
- Proof of any certifications obtained is required (e.g. ASMP, EPIA, Level 2 VP, Level 2 RT Film Interpretation, AWS CWI, AWS AWI, API 510, API 570, or other relevant credentials).
- Familiarity with ASME standards: Section I, II, VIII, IX, B31.1, and B31.3.
- IT skills: good working knowledge of the MS Office suite; familiarity with mechanical completion management software is preferred.
- Knowledge of QA/QC construction management systems.
- Understanding of main process schemes for oil and gas treatment, applicable standards and specifications, and plant construction and commissioning.
- Understanding of HSE requirements and standards implementation during construction and commissioning.
