Position Summary:
The position carries responsibilities for all Construction Management activities for Miran Energy’s Kurdistan Region of Iraq operations. Position to primary responsibility is the provide Construction Management during Miran’s Gas Plant Early Production Facility & Gathering system EPC Construction.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Performance Expectations:
- Management, scheduling and Coordination of all activities to ensure all construction works are performed safely and in accordance with the companies HSE policy
- Day to day Construction Management of Miran’s on site Project construction team.
- Supervision and management of contracts awarded for all construction related activities.
- Interface Management between all Contractors, Civils Team and Miran Operations.
- Review and approval of Contractor’s method statements and risk assessments.
- Review and approval of Contractor’s Lifting Plan, Rigging studies and Traffic Management Plans
- Review and approval of Contractor Construction workpacks.
- Review and approval of NDE Reports: Radiography, ultrasonic, dye penetrant, and PMI records
- Review and approval of Mechanical Completion Certification (MCC) and Commissioning procedures
- Liaison with engineering design and constructability input to engineering design including HAZID and Constructability reviews.
- Review of all Construction (IFC) related drawings, documents and deliverables
- Expert in assessing and calculating the value of work done (VOWD) and reviewing Management of change submissions from the EPC Contractors with respect to Construction activities
- Provide risk management and mitigation strategies for all Construction activities
- Oversight of EPC Contractors mechanical completion systems
- Preparation of weekly reports on all aspects of construction projects
- Input and Construction progress measurement for Miran’s project plan.
Competency (Knowledge & Skills) Required:
- Construction related Quality Control and Management
- Experience with welding procedures (WPQRS) for Corrosion Resistance Alloys (CRA’s)
- Experience with post-weld treatment and hardness testing for CRA’s to meet NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 standards
- Strong understanding of international construction standards and codes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Construction design and specifications
- Understanding in 3D surveying, data acquisition and testing systems.
- Best Management Practices in regard to the environment.
- Ensure that work is performed safely for the Construction team, community and end users.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Qualifications Expected / Required:
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related Sciences.
- Advanced training in Construction Quality Control and Safety
- Advance skills in interpreting Construction scheduling and estimating software
Experience Expected / Required:
- Minimum of 15 years in a role as Construction Manager in Iraq and MENA region
- Managed design and construction projects from FEED through to Commissioning & Handover
- Proven experience in Managing Fast Track Gas Processing plant projects in Kurdistan and MENA region.
- Demonstrable experience in the implementation of Project Completions and Quality Control systems to achieve Project Close out and Handover to Operations.
- Ability to fully implement the Companies HSE Policies and standards to minimize Construction related LTI and incidents.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to site is mandatory. This requires an acceptable level of mobility and fitness to carry essential safety equipment (escape sets).
