Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Engineering
- Develop and review detailed electrical system designs including:
o Medium & Low Voltage power distribution systems (transformers, switchgear, panels, UPS, generators).
o Lighting systems (interior, exterior, emergency lighting).
o Low current and communication systems – Optional (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data networks, BMS).
o Earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant local codes and standards.
- Prepare load calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate electrical designs with civil, mechanical, and architectural teams to avoid conflicts and ensure integrated solutions.
- Review, approve, and manage subcontractors’ shop drawings and material submittals.
Site Execution & Supervision
- Lead and supervise the execution of electrical works on-site from installation to commissioning.
- Manage self-performed construction teams and oversee subcontractors’ progress to meet project schedules.
- Conduct inspections to ensure electrical installations comply with approved drawings, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Monitor and report site progress, manpower, and productivity to project management.
- Perform testing, pre-commissioning, and final handover of electrical systems to the client/consultant.
Leadership & Coordination
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site supervisors.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders on technical and execution matters.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and execution plans.
- Support procurement activities by specifying materials, evaluating vendor quotations, and nsuring timely delivery of equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8–10 years of combined design and field experience in building and infrastructure projects.
- Strong track record in both design engineering and execution of electrical systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and leading site teams.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux) and MS Office.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced project environments.
