Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Baghdad International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving our ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance processes in a food production or catering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with the ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System.
- Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.
- Review and update quality documentation, SOPs, and risk assessments regularly.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and operations teams to ensure food safety practices are followed.
- Train staff on quality and food safety protocols, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control checks, audits, and inspections.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and certification agencies as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role within the food industry.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 22000:2018, HACCP, GMP, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Experience conducting internal audits and managing certification processes.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or Implementer certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site position based at Baghdad International Airport.
- Must be able to work flexible hours when needed to support audits or operations.
- The role involves regular interaction with operational areas, requiring awareness of food safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
