Position Summary:
The Juvenile Case Officer is responsible for managing and following up on the cases of children in contact with the Juvenile Court in Nafkori, Qamishli. The position requires close coordination between the Kurdistan Save the Children organization and the Social Justice Council, to ensure proper legal and psychological care for children in conflict with the law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent and thorough follow-up on all juvenile case files under the supervision of the Juvenile Court and KSC management.
- Carry out individual case studies for children with psychological, social, or behavioral problems.
- Work closely with the respective psychologists, social workers, and legal officers to develop personalized rehabilitation and follow-up plans for each child.
- Ensure that confidentiality and child protection principles are strictly maintained in all procedures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and contribute to assessment and decision-making processes.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of each child’s case file and prepare regular progress reports.
- Provide guidance and counseling to children to support behavioral and emotional improvement.
- Assist in organizing child rights awareness sessions and rehabilitation programs within the Juvenile Court center.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Psychology.
- Experience working within juvenile justice systems and with children displaying emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child psychology, especially in identifying and addressing behavioral and emotional issues.
- Strong communication, empathy, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and under high-pressure humanitarian conditions.
- Commitment to child protection principles, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Work Location: Nafkori, Qamishli, Hasakah Governorate, Northeastern Syria
Working Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Duration of the Contract: Nov 2025 – 31/12/2025 with possibility of extension
