Action Against Hunger is looking for a Project Assistant (Livelihoods and MHPSS) based in Ninewa
Work place: Ninewa (Ba’aj) with frequent visits to ACF areas of interventions.
Type of contract: 6 Months – Fixed-Term contract with the possibility of extension.
Working Hours: Full Time Contract of minimum 40 hours per week up to a maximum of 48 hours per week
Monthly Basic Salary: Action Against Hunger provide competitive salary according to ACF salary grid.

The purpose of the position:
Contribute to implementation of Food Security and Livelihoods activities responding to humanitarian needs of affected population in Ninewa governorate (Ba’aj district).
Assignment 1: Distribute items for the project
Responsibilities and Tasks:
– Ensure that the distribution is being done on time and in an organized way;
– Ensure that each beneficiaries is receiving proper quantity;
– Ensure that the hygiene conditions are appropriate;
– Check the quantity and conditioning of the items received, distributed, scoop, lose…..
– Control the beneficiaries (Crowd control).
– Prepare the material needed for distribution ( in advance);
– Intervene in case of dispute;
– Write an activity report: Account for all the distribution;
– Make recommendations for improving the project according to activity results;
Assignment 2: Beneficiary management:
Responsibilities and Tasks:
– Explain the project’s activities and objectives to the beneficiaries and the population;
– Act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries.
– Verify and check that the beneficiaries’ lists are in link with the criteria decided before (Vulnerable people). They need to inform the head of project if some people are not included on these lists and are vulnerable;
Assignment 3 : Collect information and data on food security and MHPSS:
Responsibilities and Tasks:
– Participate actively in initial training sessions, pilot surveys and debriefing ;
– Carry out household surveys;
– Ensure coherence of collected information ;
– Report any problems and constraints ;
Assignment 4 : Oversee business support development initiatives and the MHPSS activities
– Deliver soft and hard technical skills to women and youth.
– Prepare and submit cash request of grants and incentives.
– Manage and monitoring cash transfer process.
– Support provision of coaching and guidance to SMEs.
– Supervise the delivery of MHPSS activities including (LSE training, Household Dialogue)
– Prepare and submit cash request for MHPSS activities.
– Support the consultants in delivering the MHPSS activities and do follow up with consultant.
Assignment 5: Reporting and means of verification
– Prepare monthly report of the activities in the field
– Support the PM in the collection and organization all the required means of verification
– Report any incident or relevant occurrence to the supervisor
Assignment 6: Other duties
– Will promote the do no harm, across the project.
– Communicate with all the beneficiaries of the project regarding activities location and time
– Follow-up the working plan submitted by the line manager.
– Provide feedback to community
– Prepare weekly progress report including technical comments/feedback
– Supervise the use of security equipment during the rehabilitation activities
– Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Recruitment Criteria:
Qualification/Degree:
– University Bachelor degree in Business administration or related field preferred.
Professional Experience:
– 2 years of work experience in a Food security and livelihood.
Technical Skills:
– Strong knowledge of the intervention area
– Good computer knowledge
– Strong agriculture and livestock knowledge
– Strong water management knowledge and experience.
– Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian crises issues
– Experience on cash transfer programming including unconditional cash grants, agriculture and livelihood, business grants etc.
– Understanding small business, business planning and business management.
