Position Title: Trainer for Increased Women Leadership and Participation in Peacebuilding and Governance-Al Anbar

Brief description of the organization
Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice
Within the framework of the “Voices of Strength” project, Al-Mesalla seeks to enhance women’s leadership roles and their participation in peacebuilding and governance processes in five key locations affected by conflict and instability. Central to this effort is the delivery of structured, empowering workshops for women and supportive men, equipping them with leadership skills and a deeper understanding of UNSCR 1325 and Iraq’s National Action Plan (INAP).
2. Purpose of the Position
The Trainer will play a vital role in delivering training sessions designed to strengthen the leadership capacities of women and promote their engagement in peacebuilding and governance. The trainer will conduct interactive, one-day workshops across five locations, ensuring high quality facilitation, context relevance, and participant engagement.
The Trainer is also expected to prepare training materials, collaborate with the M&E team, and produce detailed session reports.
3. Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery and Preparation: – Prepare customized training content aligned with INAP, UNSCR 1325, and local context. – Facilitate one-day leadership and peacebuilding workshops in each of the five target locations. – Engage participants using participatory approaches and real-life scenarios.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting: – Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gained. – Ensure training documentation including attendance sheets and feedback forms. – Submit a final report summarizing training outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.
Coordination and Communication: – Coordinate with field focal points for logistical and operational support. – Engage with the M&E Officer for data collection and quality assurance. – Represent Al-Mesalla professionally with local stakeholders when needed.
4. Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in social sciences, peacebuilding, gender studies, or relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering training for NGOs or development agencies.
- Proven knowledge of UNSCR 1325 and Iraq’s National Action Plan (INAP).
- Familiarity with peacebuilding, leadership, and governance concepts.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills in Arabic; English is an asset.
- Strong organizational and reporting abilities.
