The National Bank of Iraq (NBI) was founded in 1995 as a publicly traded, private sector company, offering comprehensive banking services to individuals and businesses in Iraq. As a result of NBI’s success and to fuel future growth, its capital was increased from the initial IQD 400 million to IQD 250 billion (USD 215 million) in December 2013.
In 2005, Capital Bank Jordan acquired majority shares (61.85%) in NBI, allowing NBI to evolve its business offerings, strengthen its global footprint and promote financial inclusion across the country.

Job Description
- Translating strategies, policies, and objectives into long- and short-term plans, and participating in their implementation through coordination with subordinates.
- Supervising the development of plans and programs related to the department’s development in line with the established strategies, policies, and objectives.
- Monitoring the technical performance of the branch and setting standards to measure the performance and productivity of its organizational units.
- Demonstrating the ability to achieve the required objectives.
- Holding regular meetings with subordinates to follow up on workflow, review developments, and take appropriate actions.
- Preparing periodic reports on the department’s activities and achievements and submitting them to the direct supervisor.
- Following up on training processes, identifying training needs, and evaluating training outcomes in coordination with the Human Resources Department regarding the support and branch divisions.
- Analyzing recurring problems and addressing them by developing systems to ensure they are not repeated.
- Recommending training courses for subordinates, evaluating training outcomes, and following up on all matters related to them such as leaves, absences, etc., in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
- Preparing the official annual performance evaluation for subordinates according to scheduled deadlines, including the necessary recommendations in accordance with the performance evaluation system.
