Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. This role involves processing transactions, handling customer interactions, and ensuring the accuracy of daily cash operations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
1– Customer Interaction & Service
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to payment inquiries and resolving billing or transaction issues.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour during all customer interactions to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist customers with payment methods, explaining options clearly when needed.
2– Transaction Processing
- Accurately process daily financial transactions, including cash or other accepted payment methods.
- Accept payments, issue receipts or change, and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Operate cash registers or other payment technology efficiently and accurately
3– Cash Handling & Reconciliation
- Monitor and balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Record cash and bank transactions manually or using the company’s financial system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Reconcile cash collected and receipts against system-generated reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining effective cash control measures to prevent errors or losses.
4– Financial Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with the finance team to track sales-related income and expenses at the point of sale.
- Maintain organized financial and transactional records to support audits and financial reporting requirements.
- Communicate any cash-handling issues or discrepancies to the accounting department to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Support month-end closing activities and other financial processes as needed.
5– Compliance & Security
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to cash handling and financial transactions.
- Safeguard cash and sensitive financial data through secure handling practices and regular system backups (where applicable).
- Promote and follow best practices for cash control to minimize the risk of theft, loss, or errors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in cashiering or a retail environment
- Languages: Arabic and Kurdish, English is a Plus
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy with cash handling accuracy
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- knowledge of cashier systems and payment processing
- Proficiency in MS office
