Hospital General Manager
Project: General Hospital in Basra - Iraq

Reports To: Board of Directors / Owners
Location: Iraq/Basra – Full Time / On-Site
Role Objective :
Provides executive leadership to achieve operational excellence, clinical quality, financial sustainability, and strategic growth. Ensures high-performance culture and full compliance with healthcare accreditation and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute the hospital’s strategic plan with measurable KPIs.
2. Establish governance structures and accountability frameworks across departments.
3. Lead and oversee clinical and non-clinical operations to ensure patient safety, quality care, and positive outcomes.
4. Establish and monitor financial performance, including revenue cycle, capital planning, and cost control.
5. Maintain compliance with international healthcare accreditation standards (e.g., JCI, ISO) and MOH regulations.
6. Strengthen physician relations and enhance patient experience initiatives.
7. Drive digital transformation and data-driven decision making through KPI dashboards.
8. Direct executive committees and risk management frameworks.
9. Represent the hospital with governmental health authorities, accreditation agencies, strategic partners, medical authorities, and stakeholders.
10. Lead hospital branding, public relations, and regional reputation positioning as a preferred healthcare destination.
11. Evaluate investment opportunities
12. Drive service-line development and expansion (e.g., cardiology, ICU, ER, surgery) based on market needs and profitability.
Required Qualifications:
1. PhD in Healthcare Management, Medical Sciences, Business Administration
2. Minimum 10–12 years of leadership experience in hospital management, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
3. Proven experience in commissioning or opening new healthcare facilities (preferred).
4. Strong familiarity with MOH regulations and international accreditation standards.
