Role Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Finance to own Rahal’s financial strategy, performance management, and fiscal governance. You’ll play a key role in building a scalable financial structure, driving profitability, optimizing costs, ensuring compliance, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who can design models, manage P&L, oversee financial operations, and serve as a key thought partner to the CEO and leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development of Rahal’s financial strategy, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align financial goals with business growth objectives.
- Manage full P&L, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across revenue, cost, and profitability levers.
- Design and monitor financial KPIs tied to company OKRs.
Operational Finance & Controls
- Build and oversee all financial processes; accounting, treasury, FP&A, and compliance.
- Develop a scalable reporting infrastructure with transparent dashboards for key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local (Iraq, UAE) tax and audit requirements.
- Lead vendor, supplier, and payment terms negotiations to optimize cash flow.
Business Partnering
- Provide financial insights and decision support to Marketing, Product, and Operations teams.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and pricing strategies.
- Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analyses for investment and expansion projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in Finance, FP&A, or Corporate Strategy roles, ideally in tech, marketplace, or travel industries.
- Education: CPA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, or MBA in Finance preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong command of P&L management, cash flow forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Expertise in Excel / Google Sheets and modern financial tools (QuickBooks, ERP systems).
- Ability to build finance operations in emerging markets.
- Mindset: Detail-oriented, commercially sharp, and comfortable in high-growth start-up environments and cash based business transactions.
- Language skills: English and Arabic fluent.
