NES Fircroft are currently seeking a Electrical Project Engineer for a major operational oilfield in Iraq.
The ELectrical Project Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Manager and is accountable to support engineering delivery across the major project portfolio.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the long-term power strategy for the Rumaila which fits within the value case for the field and aligns to the existing infrastructure reliability and capacity.
- Lead the multi-discipline interface between Maintenance and Engineering technical authorities, Operations, Major Projects, and the Major Projects General Engineering Contractor, to ensure all aspects of the brownfield construction and integration activities are planned and sequenced in support of safe delivery.
- Manage the risks that the business is carrying within its power systems and provide credible options to mitigate and eliminate identified risks.
- Provide safety in design review and inputs to ensure that developed designs meets site specifications and the intent to provide a robust and maintainable facility.
- Support Major Projects teams with technical inputs on deviations requests, site queries and material substitutions as required.
- Support the departments utilisation of material inventory to support the overall department target for inventory.
- Liaise on a day to day basis with the Projects Engineering Manager to support technical departmental issues.
- Provide HSE Leadership and work with contractors to deliver fully on company expectations on HSE.
- To establish and communicate the expectations for construction quality.
- Attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s).
- Participation in Constructability reviews as required.
- Attending project meetings as required.
- Review and acceptance of contractor supplied execution documentation as required.
Compilation of all necessary reports as/when required.. Skills and Qualifications
- An Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications / experience or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar roles in the oil and gas industry.
- A chartered engineering qualification is preferable but not essential.
- Design and Delivery experience across all project phases including: Pre-FEED, FEED and Execute will be required.
- Capability to review and input to project schedule development based on delivery experience is critical.
- Proven track record for delivery on challenging projects, involving complex organisational interfaces
- Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural awareness, positive attitude, commitment, initiative, team player, adaptability, oral & written communication, drive and energy.
- Extensive experience working in a (Client) management capacity.
- Previous Middle East/North Africa experience preferred.
- Extensive Project & Brownfield experience is preferred.
HV and LV design experience is preferable.
