The HALO Trust is seeking a reliable and experienced Quality Assurance and Training Officer to join our team in Baiji. The primary duty of the Quality Assurance and Training Officer is designing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality training across HALO Trust’s operations. The role ensures that all staff from deminers to team leaders and supervisors, are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to operate safely, effectively, and in accordance with HALO’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and International Mine Action Standards (IMAS). Additionally, the role will be responsible for conducting QA of all activities, in accordance with HALO QM SOPs and internal processes. In addition to this document, all other employment conditions apply as laid down in the contract of employment and the employee handbook.
Qualifications
Essential
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Training roles within the mine action sector. Experience delivering both classroom and field-based training is essential.
• Valid IMAS EOD Level 3 (+) certificate (or equivalent internationally recognized qualification).
• Physically fit and medically cleared for clearance field deployment in remote or high-risk environments.
Desirable
• Prior experience with HALO Iraq, in a Training or QA position and knowledge of HALO Iraq mine action standard operating procedures
• HALO Team Leader course completed
• HALO Non-Technical Survey qualification
• HALO EORE qualification
• HALO ICP Training
• Valid manual vehicle driving license
Skills
• Must be capable of clearly communicating technical information to diverse audiences. Able to lead sessions confidently and engage trainees in practical and theoretical topics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to create engaging training materials and records. Experience with digital assessment, record-keeping tools, or e-learning platforms is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of HALO mechanical and manual clearance procedures, NTS procedures and EORE procedures, safety protocols, and field-level coordination.
• Strong map-reading and reporting skills, including the ability to produce and interpret clearance maps and detailed daily activity reports without error.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under extreme stress, including during incidents involving explosives, injuries, or civil unrest.
• High level of integrity and personal accountability — a strict zero-tolerance approach to dishonesty, negligence, or misconduct is enforced.
• Good computer literacy, including the use of GPS devices, mapping tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent discipline record, with no previous suspensions, written warnings, or formal complaints within the past two years.
Other Details & Application:
The HALO Trust team in Baiji works a Sunday–Thursday schedule, plus one Saturday per month
Job to start: 1 September 2025
Working Hours: 07:00 – 15:00 in winter months, 06:00 – 14:00 in summer months. Total of 48 hours per week.

المؤهلات
الأساسية (Essential):
• خبرة لا تقل عن 3 إلى 5 سنوات في مجال ضمان الجودة والتدريب ضمن قطاع الأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام، مع خبرة مثبتة في التدريب النظري والعملي في الميدان.
• شهادة سارية في IMAS EOD المستوى 3 (+) أو مؤهل دولي معادل ومعترف به.
• لياقة بدنية وصحة جيدة مع إجازة طبية تؤهله للعمل الميداني في البيئات النائية أو عالية الخطورة.
المرغوب بها (Desirable):
• خبرة سابقة مع HALO العراق في قسم التدريب أو ضمان الجودة، ومعرفة بإجراءات HALO القياسية في مجال الأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام.
• إكمال دورة قائد الفريق (Team Leader) الخاصة بـ HALO.
• مؤهل المسح غير التقني (NTS) من HALO.
• مؤهل التوعية بمخاطر الذخائر المتفجرة (EORE) من HALO.
• إكمال تدريب HALO ICP.
• رخصة قيادة مركبة يدوية سارية المفعول.
المهارات (Skills):
• القدرة على نقل المعلومات الفنية بوضوح إلى جماهير متنوعة، مع الكفاءة في قيادة الجلسات التدريبية والتفاعل مع المتدربين في المواضيع النظرية والعملية.
• إجادة استخدام برامج Microsoft Office (مثل PowerPoint وExcel وWord وOutlook)، والقدرة على إعداد مواد تدريبية جذابة وتوثيق السجلات التدريبية. تعد الخبرة في أدوات التقييم الرقمي أو منصات التعلم الإلكتروني ميزة إضافية.
