- Background
Al-Mesalla is implementing a multi-component project to enhance women’s participation in peacebuilding and electoral processes across five locations in Iraq. Effective monitoring, documentation, and reporting are critical to ensure that activities (1.1 through 2.3) are implemented according to plan, with meaningful community engagement and measurable results.
- Purpose of the Position
The External Monitoring & Reporting Expert will be responsible for tracking project implementation across all components and locations. This includes attending selected activities and workshops, collecting quantitative and qualitative data, verifying participation and outcomes, and submitting monthly progress reports. The expert will provide an independent lens to assess alignment with project objectives.
- Key Responsibilities
- Monitor activities under project components, including workshops, dialogue sessions, and campaigns.
- Visit the project locations as needed to observe implementation and interact with participants.
- Submit a comprehensive monthly report summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Coordinate remotely with the field teams and attend selected events both in person and online.
- Ensure that data collected is gender-sensitive and reflects community engagement accurately.
- Provide objective feedback to enhance the quality and relevance of project interventions.
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in project monitoring and reporting, preferably with NGOs or UN agencies.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; ability to consolidate large sets of field data into practical insights.
- Knowledge of peacebuilding, gender equity, and governance programming.
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic (English essential).
- Ability to travel to project sites and work independently.
- Deliverables
- Monthly Monitoring Report covering all activities in the reporting period.
- Attendance of key field events (as scheduled).
- Regular coordination with project staff for data verification and analysis.
- End-of-assignment summary highlighting impact and lessons learned.
- Duration and Payment Terms
- The assignment will run for 5 months, with a total of 8 working days per month.
- Daily rate is 50,000 IQD, amounting to 400,000 IQD per month.
- Payment will be made monthly upon submission and approval of the monthly report.
