Job description
SPIE Global Service Energy currently hiring for Commissioning Supervisor – PVV (Piping, Valves & Vessels) for Onshore Project in Basra, Iraq.
Its a rotational role- 28/28
Role Purpose-
The Commissioning Supervisor – PVV is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and execution of all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to piping systems, valves, and static equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.). He ensures that works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and within the project schedule.
Key Responsibilities-
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all commissioning activities for PVV systems.
- Review and validate commissioning procedures, check sheets, and system boundaries.
- Ensure readiness of piping and static equipment for pre-commissioning (cleaning, flushing, leak testing, reinstatement, etc.).
- Supervise valve testing, calibration, and functional checks (manual, motorized, control valves).
- Coordinate inspection and verification with QA/QC, construction, and engineering teams.
- Lead troubleshooting activities during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Ensure punch list clearance and maintain system completion status in line with project CMS (Commissioning Management System).
- Interface with operations team to ensure smooth handover of systems.
- Monitor manpower and resources, ensuring effective allocation to meet deadlines.
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and safe work practices.
- Provide daily and weekly progress reporting to Commissioning Lead/Manager.
Profile
Requirement-
- Iraqi national from Basra region.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Strong expertise in piping systems, valves, pressure vessels, tanks, exchangers, and static equipment commissioning.
- Familiarity with international codes & standards (ASME, API, ASTM, etc.).
- Good knowledge of Commissioning Management Systems (CMS) and database tools.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, and vendor manuals.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English
