Role and Responsibilities:
A. Manage daily melting shop operations, focusing on Induction Furnace processes, ladle refining, and casting.
B. Ensure production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and delivery timelines while minimizing waste and downtime.
C. Oversee process parameters, raw material inputs, and furnace operations to achieve metallurgical and energy efficiency.
D. Monitor and maintain high safety standards for all personnel and operations within the melting section.
E. Supervise and lead the melting shop team, including shift supervisors, operators, and technicians.
F. Review daily production reports, conduct root cause analysis of issues, and implement corrective actions.
G. Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Quality Control, and Planning departments to ensure uninterrupted and smooth operations.
H. Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations and company SOPs.
I. Lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing) for process efficiency.
J. Manage furnace maintenance schedules in coordination with the maintenance department.
K. Conduct training and skills development programs for shop floor staff.
L. Participate in budgeting and cost control for raw materials, energy consumption, and manpower.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
i. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline (required).
ii. 7–10 years of experience in steel production, particularly in induction furnace melting shops.
iii. Strong understanding of steel chemistry, scrap mix design, melting curves, and ladle treatment processes.
iv. Working knowledge of industrial safety and environmental protocols.
v. Experience in managing production teams in heavy industry environments.
