- Background
Al-Mesalla Organization for Human Resources Development is implementing the project “Community-Driven Solutions: Preventing Violent Extremism Through Local Action” in 15 governorates across Iraq (excluding the Kurdistan Region). The project aims to strengthen the role of local PVE sub-committees, empower NGOs, and implement locally driven initiatives that enhance community resilience and prevent violent extremism.
Position Summary
The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, verifying, and analyzing data from all 30 PVE initiatives supported by Al-Mesalla.org across 15 Iraqi governorates to accurately measure project outcomes and impact. This role is essential for maintaining data integrity, improving reporting processes, and enabling evidence-based decision-making across the organization. The Data Analyst will also prepare the final impact assessment report, providing actionable insights that support the scaling of community-led prevention strategies. A one-time visit by the Data Analyst to each of the 15 targeted governorates will be required to ensure accurate data verification and enhance the quality of impact measurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and validate data from multiple initiatives to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct one-time data verification visits to all 15 governorates to strengthen data accuracy and capture local context.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to measure project outcomes and overall impact.
- Prepare the final impact assessment report summarizing findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for scaling community-led prevention strategies.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support program teams in strengthening data collection methodologies and monitoring frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of donor reports and organizational learning products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, economics, social sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), or research.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SPSS, R, Python).
- Strong ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness and ability to travel to 15 governorates for field verification (one-time visits).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with non-profit organizations, NGOs, or social impact projects.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks (e.g., log frames, theory of change).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
