Job Identification
We are looking for a Legal Counsel who will be responsible for for providing legal services to support the operations for achieving business objectives at optimal legal costs under supervision of Legal Manager, located in Erbil, Iraq
What We Expect
- Move beyond functional boundaries to contribute to the overall health and effectiveness of the operation
- Follow up the legal cases filed by and against the company in coordination with the external law firms. To have updated reports and files. İnternal coordination with the internal stakeholders. Review the documents of the legal cases which will be submitted to the courts.
- Assist the legal manager for the governance issues ( GA meeting, BoD meetings...etc.). To have updated documents. Follow up the needed transactions before the Companies Control Department and other authorities.
- Providing the needed legal support and advice to the internal departments.
- Provide proactive legal counsel and services including creative problem solving while keeping legal risks and costs within acceptable limits and overseeing significant legal issues throughout the territories.
- Drafting, vetting and standardization of various agreements and documents. .
- Conduct legal trainings as and when necessary or required.
- Budget management through monitoring of department expenses on monthly basis, especially external counseling expenses
Qualifications
- Advanced level of English
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Law
- 5+ years with corporate law firms and/or as in-house counsel
- Admitted to any reputable Bar Association
- Excellent sense of judgement and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, creative, with a can do attitude
- Able to work on tight deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously
- Impeccable ethics, integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and result oriented
