Position Title: Trainer – Women’s Electoral Participation Workshops-Mosul

Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice
- Background
As part of the “Voices of Strength” project, Al-Mesalla is implementing activities to increase women’s participation in elections and public decision-making. A key component involves delivering one focused training workshop in Mosul to prepare women leaders and activists for electoral participation as voters, advocates, or candidates.
The workshops aim to strengthen participants’ understanding of Iraq’s electoral processes, legal frameworks, and strategies to overcome social and institutional barriers to women’s participation.
- Purpose of the Position
The Trainer will develop and deliver one-day workshop using participatory methods to enhance women’s knowledge of electoral rights and encourage civic engagement. The trainer is also responsible for designing training content, conducting assessments, and preparing final reports.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop training materials on women’s electoral rights, campaign strategies, and voter engagement.
- Facilitate one-day interactive workshop Mosul.
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate knowledge gain.
- Submit a detailed report for each workshop including attendance, evaluation summary, and recommendations.
- Ensure content is tailored to the local context and inclusive of diverse women participants.
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in law, political science, gender studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering training on elections, civic participation, or women’s rights.
- Knowledge of Iraq’s electoral system and gender-related barriers to political participation.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Fluent in Arabic; knowledge of English is an asset.

- Day 2: Delivery
- Day 3: Reporting
- Al-Mesalla will cover transportation and provide logistical support during workshop implementation.
