Brief description of the organization
Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.
- Background
Al-Mesalla is implementing the “Voices of Strength” project to support women’s participation in peacebuilding, leadership, and elections. A key component of the project involves running advocacy and awareness campaigns through multimedia content across five locations. To support this, the project will engage local Media Contractors, each covering their respective geographic area.
- Purpose of the Position
The Media Contractors will support the production and delivery of compelling visual content (photos, videos, and designs) to be used in social media, print, and community outreach during two advocacy or electoral events in each location. Their work will ensure quality, contextual relevance, and adherence to branding and ethical standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Attend and visually document two project events or campaign activities in the assigned location.
- Capture high-resolution photographs and short video footage from the events.
- Design visual materials including posters, banners, flyers, or social media content.
- Edit all media content to meet campaign standards and formats.
- Coordinate with project staff to align on messaging and branding.
- Submit deliverables in both editable and final formats, in a timely manner.
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in photography, graphic design, and/or video editing.
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, or alternatives.
- Portfolio demonstrating prior visual media work, preferably with NGOs or community campaigns.
- Awareness of ethical media use and gender-sensitive messaging.
- Ability to work independently in field environments and meet short deadlines.
- Deliverables (per contractor)
- Coverage of 2 events in the assigned location.
- At least 10 high-quality photographs per event.
- 2–3 short video clips (each 20–60 seconds).
- Minimum 2 visual design materials (e.g., flyer, banner, digital post).
- All files in editable (e.g., PSD, AI) and ready-to-use (e.g., PNG, PDF) formats.
