Job Summary:
The Data Engineering Associate will play a key role in supporting the Reporting and Data Management department by building, optimizing, and maintaining data processes that ensure accurate, timely, and efficient reporting. This role involves working closely with internal teams to support data infrastructure, automate recurring reporting processes, and enhance data pipelines to meet evolving business needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot SQL databases used for reporting purposes.
- Automate recurring reports and data preparation tasks using SQL, Python, and automation tools such as SQL Server Agent, SSIS, or Power Automate.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to support reporting and analytics requirements.
- Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data processes.
- Collaborate with reporting and business teams to support scheduled report delivery and ad-hoc data requests.
- Optimize existing data structures and workflows to improve performance of BI Software dashboards and reports.
- Build and manage large datasets from multiple data sources, ensuring scalability and high performance.
- Lead initiatives for process improvement, focusing on automating manual tasks and optimizing data flow.
- Design and build data infrastructure, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources (including SQL, cloud services, APIs).
- Provide data support and troubleshooting for business intelligence tools, mainly Power BI, including data source management and performance tuning.
- Conduct root cause analysis on reporting discrepancies and implement improvements.
- Collaborate across departments (Reporting, Product, IT, and Executive teams) to ensure data solutions meet operational and strategic goals.Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of SQL (all dialects preferred) and Python for scripting and data manipulation.
- Experience with Power BI, including building reports and managing data sources.
- Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, SQL Server Agent, Airflow) and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Python scheduling libraries).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with structured and unstructured data.
- Experience in optimizing data flows and building efficient data pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues independently.
- Strong collaboration skills to work across reporting, business, and IT teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, quality, and performance.
