Duties & Responsibilities:
Raw Material Quality (Mining Site)
- Supervise quality inspection and testing of raw materials at the point of extraction.
- Collaborate with geologists and mining teams to ensure consistency and suitability of raw gypsum.
- Ensure raw materials meet internal specifications before being transported to the plant.
Production Quality (Factory Site)
- Oversee quality control throughout the production process to ensure product consistency and compliance with standards.
- Conduct in-process checks and coordinate in-line quality inspections to detect and correct defects early.
- Evaluate final product quality including strength, composition, setting time, and packaging standards.
Laboratory & Testing Oversight
- Manage daily operations of the lab and ensure timely testing of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.
- Approve test protocols, validate results, and maintain calibrated equipment.
- Enforce strict sampling procedures and ensure traceability of test data.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure company-wide compliance with relevant ISO standards, quality certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control across mining and production.
- Assist in external and internal quality audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct trend analysis to identify recurring issues and areas for improvement.
Team Supervision & Training
- Lead and develop a team of lab technicians and quality inspectors at both mining and plant sites.
- Conduct training sessions for operational teams to improve quality awareness and compliance.
- Enforce discipline in quality practices and escalate repeat non-compliance when needed.
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Geology, Industrial/Production Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/control in manufacturing and/or mining industries.
- Strong knowledge of gypsum materials, testing procedures, and ISO quality management systems.
