Responsibilities
Core Job Responsibility:
The Electrical Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems on construction sites. The role involves coordinating with project managers, contractors, and other engineering teams to ensure the timely and efficient execution of electrical works while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Monitoring all the zones and make contact with other electrical engineers to make sure the team is working in the right way and they use the exact materials that is approved to be used, and checking the way they work and the safety of the work.
And getting instructions from the consulting engineer Electrical Engineering Consultant to execute the works and managing them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Manage and supervise all electrical activities on-site, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
- Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and HVAC systems.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of work meets the required standards and specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, as-built drawings, and material certificates.
- Coordination: Liaise with other engineers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Troubleshooting: Address electrical issues on-site, providing technical guidance and solutions for any challenges encountered during construction.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that safety standards are adhered to on-site, conducting risk assessments and safety audits as required.
- Testing & Commissioning: Ensure that all electrical systems undergo proper testing before handover, including functional checks and system integrations.
- Budget and Time Management: Assist in project scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management for electrical works.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Department)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and building projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems installation, commissioning, and safety standards
- Familiar with electrical codes, drawings, and approved materials
- Experience in site supervision, coordination, and problem-solving
- Good communication, reporting, and time management skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and confidentiality on-site
