Position Title: Senior Programme Associate (Peacebuilding and Stabilization)

Context/Reporting line:
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (Peacebuilding and Stabilization), and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer (Reintegration and Returnees), the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies by contributing to tool development, fieldwork planning, and coordination with relevant units for support studies return and reintegration in Iraq, including topics such as social cohesion, community acceptance, conflict resolution, rehabilitation, and socioeconomic conditions
2. Facilitate the implementation of interviews, focus group discussions, and survey with affected communities, ensuring applying ethical and inclusive approaches.
3. Support drafting research reports, policy briefs, and other materials related to return and reintegration in Iraq, including topics such as social cohesion, community acceptance, conflict resolution, rehabilitation, and socioeconomic conditions
4. Coordinate with local partners to collect relevant data and insights for ongoing research projects.
5. Maintain and manage research databases, with attention to data accuracy and security.
6. Assist and take the lead in organizing workshops, roundtable discussions, and training sessions to disseminate research findings and promote stakeholder engagement.
7. Support monitoring and evaluation efforts for research initiatives, contributing to the identification of areas for improvements.
8. Provide administrative and logistical support for field visits and data collection missions.
9. Conduct regular travel to designated areas (Anbar, Diyala, Salahalden, Ninawa) (and other locations as needed) support QIP activities and monitor compliance with IOM guidelines and provide inputs to the Program Officer on adjustments where relevant.
10. Follow organizational policies, including ethical safeguarding standards, in the implementation of all research activities
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, from an accredited academic university or institution with five years of relevant professional experience, or;
• Completed high school diploma with seven years of relevant professional experience.
Experience and Skills:
• Experience in research, data collection, or programme support.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting field-level research activities, including interviews, surveys, or focus group discussions in sensitive or conflict-affected contexts.
• Experience working on issues related to victims of terrorism, displacement, and reintegration processes is highly desirable
• Familiarity with data entry and data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, or qualitative software.
• Experience in supporting the organization of workshops, community consultations, or training sessions.
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and reporting skills.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and present information clearly and accurately.
• Ability to draft clear and structured reports, summaries, and field notes based on data collected.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams and engage with community members respectfully.
Languages:
• Fluency in English, and Arabic is required.
• Working knowledge of Kurdish is an advantage.
